Pananet biz Africa is seeking a commercially savvy Business Development Specialist to provide direct technical support to our cohort of entrepreneurs. You will act as a dedicated advisor, helping startups refine their business models, optimize their sales strategies, and scale their operations across the continent. Your goal is to move businesses from "survival" to "growth" mode through practical, data-driven counseling.

Key Responsibilities

  • One-on-One Coaching: Provide personalized business advisory sessions to founders on topics such as pricing strategies, market entry, and sales pipeline management.

  • Business Model Refinement: Help entrepreneurs use tools like the Business Model Canvas to identify and test new revenue streams.

  • Investment Readiness: Guide startups in preparing pitch decks, financial models, and "data rooms" to attract impact investors and VCs.

  • Market Linkages: Identify and facilitate introductions between Pananet entrepreneurs and potential corporate clients or distributors.

  • Workshop Facilitation: Lead practical "deep-dive" sessions on specialized topics like B2B sales, digital marketing, or supply chain optimization.

  • Growth Tracking: Work with the MEL Officer to ensure entrepreneurs are hitting their growth milestones.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years in business consulting, entrepreneurship, or senior sales roles. Experience having "failed or scaled" a startup is a significant advantage.

  • Financial Literacy: Ability to read and interpret financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheets) and help founders build basic projections.

  • Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep understanding of the specific challenges facing SMEs in the African market.

  • Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence; ability to give tough feedback while remaining a supportive mentor.

  • Communication: Fluent in English (and [Local Language if applicable]); must be a persuasive and clear communicator.
