INVESTMENTS ASSOCIATE/ANALYST
Pananet biz Africa is seeking a proactive Investment Associate/Analyst to bridge the gap between promising entrepreneurs and capital providers. You will work closely with our most promising founders, ensuring they are investment-ready and effectively connected with VCs, angel investors, and impact funds across the continent. This role is critical to proving the long-term viability and impact of our accelerator programs.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Vetting: Identify high-potential startups within our portfolio that are ready to raise external capital.
Investment Readiness Coaching: Provide intensive one-on-one coaching to founders on financial modeling, valuation, cap tables, and effective pitch delivery.
Documentation Support: Help entrepreneurs prepare all essential investment documents, including data rooms, pitch decks, and legal paperwork.
Investor Relations (IR): Build and maintain relationships with VCs, angel networks, development finance institutions, and corporate VCs (like those at Google or MTN).
Deal Structuring: Offer guidance on term sheets and investment structures common in the African startup ecosystem.
Portfolio Tracking: Monitor the fundraising progress of alumni companies and report outcomes to the MEL Officer and senior management.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 2–4 years in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Investment Banking, or a related corporate finance role. Experience working with startups is a major advantage.
Hard Skills: Exceptional financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence capabilities. Must be a "numbers person."
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. CFA certification is a strong plus.
Network: Existing relationships with the African investor community is highly desirable.
Soft Skills: High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive financial data; a clear communicator and patient coach.
