Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning officer
Pananet biz Africa is looking for a data-driven MEL Officer to track our impact across the African startup ecosystem. You will design the systems that capture our success stories and metrics, ensuring we remain accountable to our partners and transparent in our results. Your work will directly influence our ability to secure international grants and corporate sponsorships.
Key Responsibilities
Framework Design: Develop and implement the MEL plan, including Logic Models and Theory of Change for all Pananet programs.
Data Collection: Design surveys, interview guides, and automated tools to track entrepreneur progress (e.g., revenue growth, jobs created, investment raised).
Impact Reporting: Produce monthly and quarterly impact reports for the board and external stakeholders like Norad or GIZ.
Learning & Adaptation: Analyze data to identify what is working and what isn't, providing the Program Manager with insights to "pivot" or improve curriculum.
Case Studies: Collaborate with the Communications team to turn raw data into compelling success stories and testimonials.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular "data audits" to ensure the information collected from founders is accurate and verified.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years in M&E, specifically for socio-economic development projects or startup incubators.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in data tools like KoboToolbox, Google Forms, and data visualization software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
Analytical Mindset: Ability to see patterns in complex data sets and translate them into actionable business advice.
Education: Degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Communication: Strong technical writing skills; must be able to write reports that meet international donor standards.
